Is Svaade Fly a replacement for my official flight planning?
No. Svaade Fly is a supplementary tool only. It is designed to assist in flight planning, but the Pilot in Command retains sole and final responsibility for flight safety, regulatory compliance and independent data verification. Always cross-check against official AIP, NOTAM and weather sources before flight.
Where does the data come from?
Aeronautical data comes from OpenAIP, weather from NOAA Aviation Weather Center, NOTAMs from the FAA NOTAM Management Service, and magnetic variation from the NOAA World Magnetic Model 2025. Base maps are provided by OpenStreetMap and rendered with MapLibre GL.
How fresh are the NOTAMs and weather?
NOTAMs are cached for 5 minutes to reduce load on the FAA feed. Weather (METAR/TAF) is fetched live on demand. Both should always be cross-checked against your official pre-flight briefing.
Can I use it on my phone or tablet in the cockpit?
Yes. Svaade Fly is a responsive web app that works on phones, tablets and desktops. There's a dedicated mobile layout with tabs for Inputs / Map / NavLog. However, it's primarily designed for pre-flight planning on a larger screen.
